Is there a place to learn sign language for free?
I have been going deaf for several years and now it’s to the point where the most powerful hearing device is not that effective. I figure I’ll be 100% deaf in the next 5 years.

Free American Sign Language website.
I strongly recommend you to check out your local deaf club, I am sure they are more than willing to help you out. Not only you will learn sign, you will meet more people too! Best way to learn sign language is with few different deaf people.

In this situation, your medical insurance may cover sign language classes. If you are in the US and you are employed, you can go to your state department of rehabilitation and let them know you risk losing your job if you cannot sign than they will very likely pay for you to learn it.

Do you have a college or university nearby which offers sign language classes? Email the instructor and explain your situation and ask if you might sit in on the classes for free without enrolling in them.
I did this at my university because I want to learn sign language but did not want to pay for the tuition because I did not need the class for credit. The instructor tells me that I am more than welcome.
